All For One And One For

Ok really who doesn’t think of the three musketeers when they hear that phrase??  Yet it is a phrase that I feel has been lost in translation anymore. I think it is time we broke it apart and realized the true meaning behind those 7 powerful words.

So let’s start from the beginning, “All For One…” Back when this was originated they were talking about all being for the King and Queen. Well how does that pertain to us? We don’t have a King and Queen anymore…. Or do we? We have a King in Heaven. He is our Father and our protector. He watches us and guides us. He loves us. So are we all living all for Him? I know I have fallen short a few times today. I am by no means perfect at following everything God has called me to do. But that doesn’t mean I am not trying to follow him. I am trying to put my life all for Him. Is it hard? Yes, it can be very hard. But it is a joy all at the same time.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of Gods mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” –Romans 12:1, 2

How else can we be all for God if we are not doing the only thing we can for him? The only thing we can give back to God is our life. We have to be a living sacrifice for him. He gave us everything including our free will to choose what we are going to do. So why not choose to do everything for Him? So are we all for one?

Time to break down the last part, “One For All…” Back then the King was doing everything for the greater good of the kingdom. He was all for the people. So how is that any different than what our God does for us? God is watching out for us every second of every day. Who are we to question what he is doing then? God has our best interests in mind. He doesn’t give us challenges to be mean, or just for kicks and giggles. He gives us what we can handle. So why are we being spoiled brats and expecting him to hand us everything on a silver platter?? He is our Father. Does our father at home give us every little thing we ask for? I know mine doesn’t for sure. He taught me to work hard for what I am given. I was also taught to work hard to get anywhere. So do I have the right to expect my Father to just hand me things? No, I have no right for that. He has to teach us. And in his teachings is where we find his love and mercy and compassion. Even though things seem hard he is all for one. He is always for us. He will never leave us. Our God is so amazing!!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” –John 3:16, 17

God did the only thing that could save us all. He sent his own Son to be sent to death for us. If that doesn’t show you that God is all for us then I have no idea what else will. But I know that sending Jesus to die for all of us so we can live in eternal life with Him was not an easy thing to do. There was so many trials that Jesus went through that God had to let him go through. And because of that we all have a way of getting to know our Father.

So I don’t know about you, but I am going to try to live out that motto a little bit better.

ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL!
