Albania is so beautiful! We had about a 52 hour travel to get here from Atlanta. We flew from Atlanta, to Amsterdam, then to Istanbul. From Istanbul we took a bus through Turkey to Greece, then to Macedonia, then into Albania. We are staying at a children’s summer camp. We got here on Tuesday and there were already campers here for the week. The camp is so beautiful! We all thought we were going to be sleeping in our tents, but they have bunks for us all. I was so excited to have a bed, but I was also excited to sleep in our tents. I’m sure we will have plenty of time to do that later though.
So we got to work with the kids and the staff. Our teams are assigned to a certain group and we stick with them for the week. We have done archery, swimming, tennis, crafts, field games, and lessons. They are in Albanian and we were so lost though. There is a few people who speak english so that makes it a bit easier but communicating with the kids can be a bit hard. They are so eager to teach us Albanian and it is really fun to learn. I am seriously in love with our ministry here.
My asthma has caught up with me. The past few days I have been sick. I can feel in my chest the drainage settling and my head is so full of fluids. It is hard to breath when I move a lot. I am feeling a bit better, but I still need to rest a bit. We have the weekend off so I am just resting back at our site. Most of the team went to the beach, but I didn't think that would be good for me to do when I am sick. So please pray that I get better fast.
