A couple weeks in Europe is making me a bit nostalgic about the past 5 months. I learned so much, grew so much, and had my eyes opened to a place I never knew was possible for me to love. Thinking back over the past few months, I know I have to share some of the memories running through my brain.

The things I will miss about Asia…

squatty potties (& the Japanese heated toilet wonder)

Asian squats

outdoor workout equipment

noodles & dumplings & fried rice for everything

$1 sushi & fruit shakes

mochi ice cream

the asian peace sign

taking shoes off before you go inside

bowing & “wai”-ing

songtaus, tuk tuks, and motos piled with an entire family of 7

thai pants being an acceptable form of fashion

street food & night markets

Most of all, I miss the sweet smiles of Asian faces who are so quick to be kind, overwhelmingly generous, and a fast friend to the crazy Americans wandering the streets. Asia is filled with the biggest hearts of genuine hospitality, and I am blessed to call handfuls of these people friends. It’s crazy to think that halfway around the world are people living life so differently, but just the same- and I have known them, loved them, and they have loved me. I am happy to carry their sweet faces in my heart forever!

Praying for Asia tonight as I sleep in the home of a sweet Albanian family who is currently reminding me that the world is filled with wonderful, wonderful people from Asia, Eastern Europe and all the way back home.
