So a little bit of an oopies… it’s been a while since I wrote a blog! Well at least I’m doing it now and it’s about the 10 day training camp yay!!
Training camp was so so many things! It was filled with lots of spiders and creepy crawlies, amazing new friendships, the best worship of my life, pouring rain, sleeping in small tents, bucket showers, prayer, and so much of Gods amazingness!!!
Every night we were supposed to sleep in our own little tents in the hot woods of Georgia but a few nights we actually slept inside! It was rainy a lot of the time but when the weather got too dangerous we would have to grab our sleeping stuff late in the night and run through the rain into the closest building. It was so crazy but also quite the adventure that my whole squad shared!! It was a fun squad slumber party!
Where our tents were there were so many spiders and they were really really big and crawled all over my tent! I was a little scared to get in and out of my tent because of all the little creepy crawlies!
Every day was packed full of things to do. We only had one hour of free time every day except for the seventh day! We would wake up early, have team time, eat breakfast, go to sessions all day, eat lunch, go to more sessions, have a one hour free time, eat dinner, and then go to MORE sessions before bed!! It was so crazy and I was so tired after all of it but the whole thing was definitely worth it!!
Each day was a different culture/country day which we would dress according to that places guidelines and eat their cultural food!! The food was pretty good but it was also a little strange to eat things like hot ramen soup for breakfast on Asia day or crickets and black aged eggs on adventure day! It was also a huge adjustment to go from using forks and spoons every meal to using chopsticks to eat soup or no utensils at all for a day but it was just preparing us for our new adventure!!!
Most days we had worship and it was unlike anything that I had ever experienced! It was incredible to see so many people with such an intense love for God just shouting out His praises!
So many INCREDIBLE things happened at training camp and I met so many amazing people that I love!! God has blessed me with an amazing squad and the best team I could ask for! Each one of my teammates brings something different to team Abundance (our team name) and even though we are small in number and size, we have big hearts and a huge love for God!
It’s so crazy to think that I will be leaving for the actual World Race Gap Year launch in just 1 week!!! I’m so sad to leave my home and all my people but I can’t wait for this adventure to begin and I know that it will be amazing!!
Well that’s all I got for you today!
Thanks for reading!!
