Elizabeth and Samuel are 2 of the most incredible people I have ever met! They have brought 18 children into their home along with their own 4 kids and given them all that they have. Not only a roof over their heads, but a family. They love every child as their own and show them what it feels like to truly be loved. They treat them as much as they can but the little gifts and adventures they get no where near compares to the gift of unconditional love that is given to them by Samuel and Elizabeth but also the the Father. The love that I feel in that home is the strongest I have ever felt.
Samuel is the best father those boys could ask for. He is an amazing example of what it looks like to live entirely for the Lord and all of his children look up to him so much. They love him endlessly. He has taught the kids how to depend only on the Lord, how to love everyone around, and how to pray.
Man the way these people pray really gets me! (Side story) The first day we got to their house Samuel said that we would pray. We went over prayer requests and then he said that we were all going to pray at the same time. I was used to this because WR does this a lot but I was still unprepared for this prayer. Imagine 20 kids from ages 5 to 14, all speaking out their prayers the the one and only God in their own language. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. The Holy Spirit is so present there.
The home that they have created welcomes in all people kinds of people, so much love, and the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. It moves in every person that enters that house.
Elizabeth is one of the most kind and caring mothers I have seen. The way she loves on the kids is Gods love running through her. She has taught the kids to worship with their whole hearts and to care for their brothers and sisters.
The worship was another thing I wasn’t prepared for. (Side story) When Samuel pulled out the guitar and Elizabeth got her song book out for worship I was excited to hear their songs but once again this big family surprised me! They didn’t just sing, they praised, they worshiped, the shouted, they poured their hearts out. Every child was shouting out praises to the Lord so loud and with so much power. It was incredible.
The kids have learned so well what it looks like to love one another. Jabez, the oldest and one is Samuel and Elizabeth’s biological kids is like a typical teenage boy but he cares for the youngest little boy, Joshiphah, so much! He has been such a comfort and the best big brother to Joshiphah.
Samuel and Elizabeth have given these kids the best things they could ever get: a family, love, and a foundation in the Lord. So here’s to some of the most beautiful souls I’ve had the pleasure to meet. Thank you God.
