I’ve come to find that a home is so much more than a roof over your head, it’s the feeling of comfort, of belonging, of restfulness, and of joyfulness and most importantly, home is the people that are there. It doesn’t matter if the kitchen floor splashes up mud when you walk or if the rooms are filled with hundreds of bugs, it’s the people that live through all of that with you and make it fun that makes it a home.
Over the past two months, I’ve found a home in Swaziland. It’s changed from the place where I sleep and eat into a place where I can rest and where I can feel comfortable in. Aside from the slight discomfort and adjustment to sleeping in the same room as 17 other girls, my bed has become like my own little room. The 45 other strangers that I lived with have changed into 45 family members that I love. This Swazi base camp has become my home. Don’t get me wrong, I love my home in Colorado so so much, but I have been blessed with such an amazing one here in Swazi. My Colorado home will of course never be replaced by another but this Swazi home really comes close to it. I’m also learning what it means to find my home in the Lord and I can’t wait!
Here’s a little video of me and Jessa showing you around our home!! it’s a little funny so bare with me.
