Hello everyone!!
Welcome to my first blog ever! I am so so excited to start this next chapter of my life and to tell you all a little bit about myself.
So hi I’m Kayla Schneider and I currently am a senior at Monarch High School. I live in Superior, Colorado and I absolutely love it here!! I was born in Winfield, Illinois but moved to Colorado when I was two and have been living here ever since. I’ve met some amazing people that live on my street and I have been so lucky to be able to grow up with them all of these years! I love to go hiking and hammocking and just being outside and in the beautiful sunshine! The mountains are so close to where I live and it’s a constant reminder of His amazing creation that we live in! I’m so happy to be able to travel and backpack around in a few months!
I really love kids and hanging out with them and all of their joy that they have (most of the time). I’m playing tennis this year for the first time ever and I’m having so much fun! I enjoy trying new things even though they might be scary sometimes, but it’s good to face fears every once in a while. I like to go snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter and I loooove the snow!! If someone wants to play a game, I’ll always want to join no matter what game it is!
My favorite color right now is light yellow because it makes me feel so happy! I hope to one day own an old VW van and travel around in it. I’m kind of a vintage person and I love old music like the Beatles, Jackson 5, and Whitney Huston! I love to smile all the time and I laugh really easily!
I absolutely love love love traveling and adventuring any chance I get!! I have been on three mission trips out of the country so far to Belize, Cuba, and Jamaica and I plan to go on my fourth one to Costa Rica this summer! The Lord has taught me so many things on these little adventures and I have made so many life long friendships. Being immersed in each of the cultures has been amazing and those trips are part of the reason that I have chosen to do The World Race Gap Year!! I can’t wait to see all the new and different cultures and meet so many more amazing people!
After The World Race, I plan on attending Central College in Pella, Iowa where my dad went to college as well! I’m so excited to know that I can kind of follow in my dad’s footsteps and have a plan for when I get back!
I have so many amazing people that surround me every day and I am so grateful for them all! I feel so happy knowing that I have all of their support and encouragement for my journey this next year! I feel so at peace with this decision and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for me in these next few months!!
Thank you so so much for being here on my blog and taking the time out of your day to read more about me and my upcoming journey!
-Kayla
