Hello friends! My name is Kayla Norwood. I am 22 years old. I just graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Spanish. While I am so excited to one day have my own kindergarten class, I am even more excited to pursue Jesus around the world for 11 months!
Some of my favorite things include sweet tea, Gilmore Girls, TOMS, small children, the sky (sunrises, sunsets, stars), Delta Gamma, baking cookies, beach days, and candles. I love coffee almost as much as I love being in coffee shops. My favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 3:18.
I have two wonderful parents and one older brother, Nolan. I am also surrounded by friends who love me so well!
I went on my first international mission trip in 2013. Those 10 days in Guatemala really sparked my love for international missions. (I was on that trip when I first heard about the World Race!) The next summer, I returned to Guatemala for two months. I went on a Passport trip (college students) with Adventures in Missions. My life was forever changed that summer! I learned so much about what it means to truly follow Jesus, to interact with the Holy Spirit, to pray with boldness, and to live in community.
In August of 2017, I will start my journey to 11 countries in 11 months. I will be going to India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador.
I am so excited that you are joining me on this adventure! Thank you so much for you love and support!
