Hola amigos!!
We’ve been living in Costa Rica for a lil over a week now! That seems so weird to actually say. I LOVE it here!!! Our first travel day was pretty chill even though we had to be at the Atlanta Airport at 2:45 a.m. This was my very first flight! I was so anxious and excited…also insanely tired! I was really hoping for a window seat since this was all new to me and I wanted to see all the views. My Heavenly Father was so sweet to allow me to have the window seat on BOTH flights! I love how He cares for us! Flying over the ocean was absolutely breathtaking, being able to see the Florida Keys, Cuba, and the Bahamas.
Once we arrived in Costa Rica we headed to our base. And man oh man, are we spoiled! We don’t even need a tent or sleeping bag and pad. We have bunkbeds with clean sheets and a pillow, an actual toilet, a shower with HOT water, and a closet to store our packs, clothes, and shoes. There’s also a sliding glass door with an amazing view of the mountains.

Our first two days in CR were filled with orientation and more training along with a 45 minute walking tour of Costa Rica. Thursday and Friday were our first days of ministry. We helped serve at a local food bank. I love that CR doesn’t trash perfectly edible food. They recycle their food to feed the needy. How awesome is that?! Saturday was our first adventure day! We decided to check out the local market. It was so cool seeing all the different foods and the items the locals make.
Costa Rica is BEAUTIFUL! It’s so green and the people are so nice! I’m super thankful for the new family God has given me to do life with! And I’m excited to go deeper with the Lord and to fully rely on Him during the next 9 months!
