My team mates and I did ATL (Ask The Lord) ministry last week, since it was water week. I wrote earlier about the people we met one of the first times we went out. However I still had a whole week of ATL and it is not always an amazing story. Last week when I started off with ATL and had such a great experience the first time I ignorantly thought it would be like this every time I went out but came to realize it doesn’t. On Wednesday my team prayed and felt lead to go to a star bucks. We arrived at star bucks and we were the only people there besides the workers. We waited for about 30 minutes. And prayed God would give us someone to talk to. Some of the girls made notes to give to people we met. After about an hour we decided to go to a strip mall close by but before we did that we thought maybe we would talk to the workers and see if they needed any prayer for anything because the Lord could have asked us to come to talk to them. We asked both of the if they needed prayer and they both said no. Then we asked them if we could pray for them and they said no. So then we went over to the strip mall and saw a man sitting right by the entrance. We walked up to him and could immediately smell alcohol and then noticed he had a big bottle in his bag. Then we started talking to him (his name was Walter) after about 40 minutes of trying to figure out what Walter was saying and him trying to figure out what we were saying we decided to ask Walter if he would like prayer. He said no and told us that God hasn’t helped him yet so he doesn’t want prayer. This was hard to hear because he had so much hate and anger towards his father who I know, cares so deeply for him. We then decided to pray for him later away from him. We started walking back to the house when a old man started yelling at us. We went over to talk to him and his name was Walter too! We prayed over him and went home. It was hard to not see any fruit but that’s just when you have to put your trust in God and know there is a reason he put you there.
