Clothes before the race meant something way different to me then the meaning they now have for me on the world race. Clothes were a way to express myself and my individuality. It was also a way for me to feel good about myself when I got to dress up and look special for a special occasion. When I came on the race I bought clothes that people would typically wear on a mission trip. The weird lengthen pants that will help you cool of in the heat, the shirts that dri fit, and the not so comfortable wind breaker…. theses things are all great for a one week maybe even two week mission trip. But when you are on the field for nine months and mission is your job/ life it’s best to just wear regular clothes that you would actually wear at home, because chances are you will probably get used to the heat and can wear pants and will at some points want to feel like a normal human being. And Chances are it will probably get cool at night so bring the comfy sweat shirt and comfy shirts. Bring anything that you would actually wear on a daily basis.
