Each day is an adventure for sure. My day starts off with talking to the Lord and inviting him into my day. I then go to the market which is pretty close to our host home. I typically get a freshly cut pineapple for .50 cents. Then I go to a family that makes “pillow” each morning. They are like little donuts with no icing. Then I go home and eat with my team.

At 7:50 our team meets for prayer before we go into ministry at Good Seed International school. At 8:00 my class is in session. I love saying good morning to each student with a hi five! They get so excited each time they see me. It’s the best feeling!  Then I sing nursery rhymes, teach letter and number, and sing the song A Rum Sum Sum, and Baby Shark on repeat. Then we have snack time. Honestly snack time is one of my favorite parts of the day. I love seeing the foreign cultural things each kid eats for a snack. The snacks are anywhere from Pringle’s, sea weed, donuts, packaged sausage (I think), odd fruits, rice and eggs, and something I have no clue what they are. Then they have a writing lesson. Writing lessons are sometimes difficult but they work hard and fast so they can drawl on the back of the work sheets. One kid in my class draws mermaids and princess each time. I love getting to see what he draws each time. He is probably one of my favorite kids in the class.  He’s such a goof. Then we go to recess. All the kids jump all over me and act like I’m a monster. They never hold back haha. I have kids hanging off my head, back, legs, and arms. It’s funny how they know they can  rough house with me. My other team mates they are so kind and gentle with, while with me they jump on me and grab at me. I love it though! It reminds me of my brother.  Then we go back in the room for more nursery rhymes, Baby Shark, and A Rum Sum Sum.

I then get to go home and take a nap or just sit in silence for 30 mins. After 30 mins I then get to talk to the Lord in a team devotions! This is something I will want to do at home. Love getting to refocus and re invite the Lord back into my day! My days are just better when I get to take time out to talk to the Lord. Then at 12:30 I go to lunch where I get to eat with my ministry host and my teachers. They are so welcoming and kind. The teachers serve us each time for lunch! They love us so well. We eat rice and some kind of soup each day for lunch. After lunch I go home and wait in till afternoon Ministry starts. Afternoon starts at 2:00

Afternoon ministry is the same but less kids. Morning I have 18-21 kids. In the afternoon I have 17 kids. After the afternoon ministry I go to the market and see my usual lady. I like to go after 6 because she isn’t there before. Her family takes shifts working at the market since they work each day. Since I have had stomach problems since being in Cambodia I eat 2 carrots and 2 potatoes about everyday for dinner! Its awesome! It’s usually either 4,000 riel or 3,500 riel. 4,000 is a dollar and 3,500 is about .75 cents. So I really don’t spend much in a day. Then I go home and cook it. I boil it each time to hopefully get the pesticides out.  We have a little camper cooking stove thing. It’s a gas tank with a iron coil on top. It’s been an experience with that thing. I have almost burnt my eye brows off a couple times but I am still alive. Cooking used to be really hard but it has been easier now that we have a kitchen sink. We used to have to go outside and wash everything plates and vegetables.  That was hard to do when there isn’t a light outside because the sun sets at 5.

After dinner we have team time at about 8. Team times are great they are together but individual at the same time. Each day is something different. Monday’s a journey Markers which consist of hard questions. Tuesday are blog days, Wednesday are feedback, which is when you tell team mates things you would like to encourage them in or things you see them growing in. Thursday are free B days. So you can do whatever you want as a team. Friday’s are debrief days which is just when you reflect with the team about how the week was over all. Either individually or as a squad. And Saturdays are free days. Sunday is Worship. Worship can look different depending on who’s leading it. But all are amazing and super cool!

After team time we get ready for bed. It usually doesn’t end in till 10 so I get a shower and get into bed. Showers are also an adventure. We are blessed to have 3 showers and 3 toilets for every 3 girls. But the toilet is right in front of the shower and there is no curtain so someone is usually using the restroom because as people are we only have to go to the restroom when it’s an awkward or not good time haha. Myself included. There is no light in the shower so you have to take your phone in the shower and put it on a ledge in the bathroom. I’m always scared a big hairy spider is going to come out and bit me. But so far that hast happened! Praise the GOOD Lord! But then I go to bed. You would think that with such a tight schedule there would be no surprises but each day is definitely full of them!

If you have any questions for me let me know! I would love to answer them in a blog!
