Hey friends and family, I am so sorry for the delay, but thank you for your patience as I get used to this new normal.

I am officially in month 1 of my race; Panama and it‘s hot!  My team and I arrived in the little town of San Felix on August 8th around 11:30am.  We are working with a ministry called Beyond Aviation. Ethan, our ministry host is a pilot who flies into indigenous villages all over Panama spreading the good news.  He recently purchased 23 acres of land where he has a plan to build a landing strip for his plane, a church, and a house.  During our month here we will be helping him clear out his property in preperation to break ground for these projects.  We have also partnered with New Hope Baptist Church, pastored by Alex Taylor here in San Felix.  We will be serving them with any landscaping projects they are in need of over the next month.

Transition has been difficult for me so far, as I get used to a new culture, heat, living situations, etc.  I will go into more detail on these things in a later blog, but I’m expectant to see God move in big ways as I journey with Him over these next 11 months.

I want to remind you ALL that this just isn’t my journey, this is your journey too.  Yes, God called me to physically uproot myself from the comforts of my home in the United States to be His hands and feet all over the world, but that doesn’t mean that you can‘t make this your journey too.  I want to encourage you to get quiet before the Lord and ask Him what He wants from you this next year?  Maybe you give up something that’s taking too much time and focus away from your relationship with God? Maybe volunteer once a week in your community? Or maybe it’s just you challenging yourself to intentionally take the focus off of yourself and be more aware of the people around you? I don’t know, but I just really want to encourage you all not to just vicariously live through me over these next 11 months, but make this your journey too.

Thanks so much for your prayers.  Keep them coming!

Much love,

Kayla
