Hey friends! My name is Kayla Burgess. I am 27 years old. I graduated high school in 2009 from JHS in Jacksonville, IL. In 2012, I received an Associates degree in science with an emphasis in business from Lincoln Land Community College located in Springfield, IL. I am so thankful for my upbringing. God has blessed me with two incredible parents and the best siblings I could ever ask for. I have 2 brothers an older and a younger. My older brother, Brandan, is 28 years old and lives in Chicago, IL where he is the general manager of a wellness corporation and is also a personal trainer. Blake is 25 years old, and is currently living out his dream in Spain playing professional basketball. My parents, Daniel and Kimberly, live in Jacksonville, IL and have been happily married for 30 years. My dad works for himself as a contractor for various companies in the sales and marketing world, and my mom is a paraprofessional at a school for children with disabilities. I currently live in Nashville, TN and have been here for almost 3 years. I am a member at an incredible church, Nashville Life, where I get the opportunity to serve monthly on a team that assists in helping build community within the body, better known as the connect team. During the week, I am a support instructor at a school for children with special needs, dealing primarily with Autism. Each day, I thank God for equipping me with the skills needed to help each of the learners grow and succeed into the incredible men and women He has created them to be. I couldn’t be more honored that He chose me. When I’m not serving at church or working, you can find me spending time with friends. I am an extrovert, so I feel the most alive when I’m spending time getting to know people, hearing their stories, and just doing life with them. I enjoy watching movies, hiking, playing games, and just simply sitting and dreaming about what the next 10 years could look like. I’m so excited to have you all along on this journey with me. I look forward to sharing with you all what all God will be doing in this next season of my life.
