Hello, I’m Kayla! And yah, my last name really is Zilch, although friends sometimes call me “Zero”.
You can usually find me amoungst books, up a tree, in a coffee shoppe, or as my nine year-old brother says – “lost somewhere on an adventure, or something”. I am 22.7 years old (as of today, October 9th, 2014); and if I’d have you know one single thing about me, it’s that I have a heart to see the nations won for Christ.
2014 was a tricky year for me – full of various stops and starts, happiness and heartbreaks. After months of sleepless nights and several episodes of crying in my car outside of work for no real reason at all, I sensed that God wanted to do something really incredible in my not-so-incredible college life, but He was waiting until I invited Him in; so I started praying relentlessly for a vision.
And not long after, God responded – He called me on the World Race.
I am passionate about missions, and to say that I feel blessed to have the opportunity to carry the name of Jesus to eleven different countries around the world with a team of fifty other people bearing the same heart – well, that would be like saying that double chocolate chip ice cream is “nice“. Words just don’t cut it. But with this here blog, I am going to take a stab at it, anyway.
You can follow my adventure from Suburban Mitten State Girl to World Traveler right here, so pull up a chair and settle in, because what God is about to do is amazing.
Lastly – I would love to buy you a cappuccino and swap stories sometime, so holler at me, won’t you?
And let’s build the Kingdom together.
