I had a quick conversation with one of my supporters this past Sunday, and he helped infuse me with a fresh perspective on this whole giving thing – giving me several great ideas, and challenged me to challenge you about what it looks like to participate in someone else’s dream.
Because that’s what you’re doing, isn’t it? You are participating in my dream by helping me to make the dream a reality.
There is absolutely no way I would be able to do the World Race without you, so I want to begin finding more creative ways to invite you to experience this adventure with me – with things that go beyond a simple thank-you letter.
So here’s the deal.
I’ve created a new way to give – a way that allows you to choose not only the level of financial contribution, but the level of direct involvement you have with my 11-month journey around the world. Now, if I had it my way, I would bundle each and every one of you into a roomy duffel bag and take you along with me; but due to the increasing baggage fees and overall impossibility of that plan, I must find a way to bring the journey to you.
Starting today, February 3rd, any person (or persons) who donates financially will have the option to select a thank-you corresponding to the level of donation given. This is a way for me to show you my appreciation, for choosing to think of me and my squad on a Tuesday morning when you are surrendering your double shot Starbucks latte to help bring me closer to my dream. It’s my way of keeping you with me on this adventure, in the best and most creative ways I can.
Here are several options, or “levels”, for you to donate at, along with ways to keep you with me while I’m gone.
Donate $50, and you will receive the first photo taken in the country of your choice with a social media shout-out. I will also take a professional digital photo in that country, and have it printed for you upon returning to the States.
Donate $100 or $10 a month for the next ten months, and you will receive one postcard from each of the eleven countries.
Donate $400 or $40 a month for the next 10 months, and you will receive one 60 minute photo-shoot, to be used by either you or gifted to a family member/close friend. Photo options include senior pictures, an engagement/save-the-date session, family pictures, and maternity.
If your donation exceeds this level, or if you have previously donated at a level that corresponds with any of these, don’t worry! I will be getting in touch with you to make something amazing happen.
