So I’m really new at this whole blogging thing so here goes…

THE BASICS:

1. I’m 22 years old

2. I have 4 sisters.

3. I live in Canada, but spent most of my life in Nashville, TN and yes I will definitely be using y’all and eh in the same sentence.

4. I LOVE peanut butter and Mexican food.

5. I can have full conversations in movie quotes alone.

6. I got my bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry at university.

7. Playing soccer was my life up until about a year ago. I miss it terribly.

8. Laughing is my favorite. Absolute favorite.

9. I have a thing for even numbers…my alarm is always set to end in a 2. (ie: I have to wake up at 7 am so the alarm is set for 7:02 am) also volume on the tv/radio or microwave time MUST be an even number as well. Don’t ask me why. I know, it’s weird.

10. I love when it snows and have really gotten into snowboarding this year.

So there’s just a few fun facts but here’s a quick glimpse at how I ended up being called to the World Race. After I graduated from university last spring I was struggling with deciding on a career path and didn’t feel led by God in any particular direction. It was hard at the time, but looking back it was probably the best thing to allow my faith and trust to grow in Him. For the past few months I have felt an overwhelming desire to get involved in missions and share God’s love around the world. As I was looking into different options a friend suggested the World Race. I was immediately interested and felt the Holy Spirit tugging on my heart to apply. The next week I had my interview and a week later I was accepted! So many squeals of delight during and after that phone call. I personally apologize to the guy who called to tell me. I’m sure his ears will recover eventually. It has been a whirlwind these past few months and despite how fast everything has been happening, I still am confident in this decision to jump with both feet into what God is leading me to. I can’t wait to meet all my teammates and see how God uses us in this upcoming year!!
