First ministry we visited this month taught classes to the locals about “life subjects” including communication, budgeting, and family health.  We would sit in a small circle, teach about a subject, and then answer their questions.  I actually really enjoyed these classes.

This is Sarah.  She attended the classes.  Because of circumstances she did not have a home and instead lived in the corner of the church.

Her "home"

These kids would chase our car to our guest house some days.

We got to go to the World Cup qualifier… Uganda vs Congo B.  The game was crazy fun and only cost $4 USD to go.  Uganda won 4-0!

The second ministry we visited was in Mbarara and their ministry involved crusades… these are basically one day trips to churches to speak.

Typical squatty potty in the villages.

Squeezing in the back of the truck for transportation… The team would ride for hours like this.

Safety Hazard? Attaching an extension chord to a power strip using the wires and masking tape.

The next ministry we visited did crusades, door to door evangelism, Bible studies, and sports ministry playing soccer and volleyball.  Sorry, I did not take any pictures there during ministry.

Pastor Solomon was their contact and he was one of my favorite contacts we worked with this month.  He was hilarious.  The little boy on the right is Davis. He was always found hanging out around Pastor’s house.  He is 12… His favorite color is red… and he wants to be a teacher like his parents when he grows up.

This is Adidas… One of my favorite people I met this month.  He is 20 and is not attending university because he is an orphan and does not have the money.  He sings and dances at some of the crusades that Pastor goes to.

We also went to a wedding reception. My first wedding on the race… had never seen the people before in my life.  But, as white people, we got a lot of attention at the reception.  They took pictures and video of us constantly.

The last team we visited was back in the Kampala area and the day we did ministry with them, they helped with a medical clinic in a nearby village.  While the people from the other ministry did medical checkups, we kept the kids and the waiting patients occupied.

We finished up our month at the Nile River… some of the squad rafted and bungee jumped there.  It was beautiful.

And then…

After a bus came 10 hours late to pick us up… and a 24 hour bus ride that included a 3 hour stop at the Ugandan/Kenyan border because of a bag being stolen off our bus… We made it to Tanzania!
