Scene: A dark smoky room with a poker table and one low hanging light over the table. I’m on one side and HE is on the other. There are huge, uncountable walls of money behind Him and a little stack of money that looks pretty small in the middle of the table. It’s $15,500.
Me: (I point to the little pile.) We’re talking about a lot of money here!
HIM: (He suppresses a smile.) Ok. Well you need to ask.
Me: I hate asking for money though.
HIM: Well, try.
Me: (I roll my eyes and sigh.)
HIM: Kayla, you’re excited about making sacrifices to go on this trip and experience Me in a new way. Some people think you’re crazy. Other people cannot go on a trip like this, but they would if they could. And they still want to be a part of it. If you don’t ask them, they can’t be a part of it. Ask them to sacrifice some money and if I put it on their hearts to give, it’s because I want them to learn something about Me too. They might even get as excited about it as you are. Try Me.
Me: Yeah… I just really don’t feel comfortable asking.
HIM: Many of My people will not go on this trip. That’s fine, because I didn’t ask them to. But they love Me and they love you. They will give to this and be a part of it because they are cheerful givers. I’ve given them a lot of resources because they love to give it away. It’s fun for Me, fun for you, AND fun for them. Try Me.
Me: Well… I like fun.
HIM: And some of My people will want to give more than anything, but they won’t be able to. They are still really excited about this and they will be a big part of it. They will pray that My Spirit will move so others give and all the financial goals are met. They will get on their knees to pray for your safety and protection. They will pray for you during your trip when you are lonely, and when life on the road gets rough for you. They will pray for you when you get hard phone callsfrom home. They will pray for you to have strength for the job I’m sending you to do. In prayer, they will celebrate the victories with you, rejoice when you rejoice, and cry about the things that make you cry. You have to ask others to join you in this. That’s how I designed My people to work together. You need them. Just ask them. Try Me.
