<- chilling at the lake with my lil’ cousin. 🙂

Hi all!!

My name is Kayla Park.

This spring I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Behavioral Science (YAY!!!). However, God has first and foremost (at least during these years of my life) called me to the mission field.

During the last few years God has done such AMAZING things in my life, completely opening up my eyes to who He is and what He is doing (not that God was silent before, but I am learning to see and to listen!). I became very involved in a ministry on campus called His House Christian Fellowship. Not only did I grow tremendously, but I learned what it means to really believe in our salvation through Christ and have a desire to share that with others. I had the opportunity to get involved in the lives of others, to be a mentor to people (as well as be mentored), and to reach out and share the Gospel with my fellow American students as well international students from all different countries, some of whom had never heard of Christ before.

As I neared graduation, I realized that God had blessed my life with a tremendous amount of freedom (freedom from the things that can tie a young graduate down). Through those months I realized that this blessing was for a purpose, and I wanted to use these years to follow God into the craziest places He can call me. I want to share the Gospel with others in the world. Of everything that we can possibly do, I believe that that is absolutely the most important.

I felt absolutely called to missions and prayed that God would lead me in the direction that was right. That is why I am a part of the World Race.

Incidentally, I have never actually left the country (well, I’ve been to Canada), so this is a HUGE, HUGE leap for me to take. I understand that God is going to use this time to teach us, change us, and work through us. Words cannot describe how excited (and scared) I am. But God is absolutely in control, and it is He who has led me to this place. I am trusting in God and ready to follow Him anywhere.

This is the blog that I will use throughout this year and through our time overseas. I will be updating this over the year as I work on preparation and fundraising and after we have launched. What is exciting about this blog is that I will be able to share with you all that God is doing in my life and in the lives of others!

Revelation 7:9,10

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
