We are now in Nicaragua. Kiera prophesied our last week in
Guatemala this our next month would be one that we all drop our heavy loads.
She spoke that in Nicaragua we would be able to drop the barriers that we still
hold up and we would drop the burdens we have been carrying for so long. In our
obedience and vulnerability we would be able to bring freedom and peace to the
people we would be working with. We would be able to help them drop the
barriers they are holding up. She spoke a greater since of unity in our team
that would have an overflow effect on the community around us.
Since we have been here in San Bernardo, Nicaragua, we have
been overwhelmed by the communities desire to have us jump in and contribute to
whatever they have going on. We work at the school down the street in the
mornings. We are able to teach them English and at the end of class we sing
worship songs in Spanish and have the kids sing along. We are opening the door
for the church to be more involved in the school because we are representing
Christians in the school system. In the afternoons here we walk the streets
praying for families and for those who are sick or in need of healing prayer.
Every house we pass by greets us with an ‘adios’ or ‘bendiciones.’ We are not
only welcomed into every home we approach but most offer us a place to sit and
whatever beverage and food they have.
We get to go to the police station to bring coffee and
pastries and pray over the police officers. We pray for justice, safety, and
wisdom in each of the officers working before they start their shift. In the
evenings we are invited to several churches and we get to go be a part of their
service sharing our testimonies, sermons, and songs of worship. We are loving
whomever the Lord places before us because we are CHOSEN to be in San Bernardo,
Nicaragua and show the love of our father. We are being used as a tool to unite
this community and shower it with the peace of our Father.
Oh how I am blessed to be such an unworthy prospect, I do
not deserve my calling, but I rejoice that I have been chosen. I am SO
extremely blessed to be where I am right now, in the center of my Father’s will
for me. I am blessed that He has chosen my voice to speak love and kindness to
these people. But I am even more blessed to see how my growth and obedience to
be HERE NOW loving and carrying out the will of my God is bringing redemption
back home. The things I am learning here are not just an experience; they are a
change in lifestyle. My life back home and the people in it, that is where my
ministry will be after the race. Those are the people that have been placed
before me to show the love that the Father has placed in me. I am to love those
whom I am surrounded by because those are my neighbors. In the same way, you
are CHOSEN, to love those people that the Lord has graciously placed in your
life, because they are your neighbors.
Luke 10:28 “YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR
HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR
MIND; AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
