Living in community has been one of the greatest blessings
on the race. This month my team of 7 has a two-bedroom one-bathroom apartment
with a kitchen about the size of my closet at home. There are 5 of us girls
sharing one room, which is also the dining room.
And then Joshua and Chad have a room to share. I’m sure you
are thinking CROWDED! And 5 months
ago I would have totally agreed and probably would not have looked at this as a
blessing but rather a fight waiting to happen.
Things change when you start to love your neighbor as
yourself and you put into practice the principles that Christ implemented. When
you see the Jesus in those around you and trust that their heart is turned
toward the Father, you can’t help but appreciate where you are and whom you are
with.
I realize I’m changing, I’m growing, I’m no longer depending
on my own amount of patience, or my amount of love to keep me going. I’m
learning to depend on the Lord’s, because His supply is endless and His supply
is my supply. His Spirit dwelling in me actually gives me everything I need to
succeed. He gives abundant life and it flows in me and through me.
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who
believes in me, as the scriptures said ‘From his innermost being will flow
rivers of living water.'” – John 7:37-38
Are you thirsty?
