So on the world race you learn that majority of the world doesn’t use a seat to go to the bathroom. Most cultures feel a hole in the ground is suffice for waste excretion. The people you are with call them toilets and the people you came with call them squatty potties.

How low do I squat?

Which direction do I squat?

Should I squat flat footed or up on my toes?

These are the questions you are faced with.

On our way to Moldova after an 8-hour bus ride with out stopping, I really had to go. The girls on my team ran in the direction of the toilet sign. We pay the dollar and get our 4 squares of tissue paper from the lady (yes you have to pay to use public restrooms) and we hurry inside. Then the shock hit me and the questions arose. I had pictured it happening in my mind so I thought I was ready. And I was about to go on myself so there was no time to waste contemplating. I stepped into the stall, stabled my feet in the specified placements, and then dropped to do the business.

I had been told you squat facing away from the hole and such was the way I attempted to utilize this toilet.

But then it happened.

I began to pee and relieve my bladder and very quickly realized that this position was NOT going to work for me. The urine wasn’t smoothly hitting the porcelain and flowing towards the flush hole. It was hitting the inside wall of the toilet and spraying back up in my face. Not only in my face but pretty much everywhere else. I’m sure you can imagine the frustration that follows an occurrence like this. I can say I was a little pissed off because I got pissed on.. but the fault laid on me.

So that was month 5 and it is now month 8 and I can successfully say I have perfected the position of the squatty potty. Basically I no longer piss in my face, and it’s great.

Why am I telling you this?

Well because the Lord said, “Kayla, you’ve had to learn and over time you’ve found the perfect positioning system. But it didn’t come the first time, or the second time, and sadly not even the third time. It took a little work, some patience and some practice but you figured it out.”

Yes I believe God cares about me learning how to properly use a squatty potty but that wasn’t the point. He wanted me to go a little deeper, so I followed.

He said, “When you wake up in the morning with your heart in that perfect position of knowing who YOU are and how much I LOVE you and how much I APPROVE you before you even get out of bed then you will never again have a bad day. Listen for my voice every morning and you will hear me say ‘Kayla, I love you. I’m proud of you. I have good things in store for you today. My favor is on you. You are my beloved daughter and I’m pleased with you.’”

Are you following me?
Do you know this is what God wants to tell YOU every morning? Are you listening?

Have you perfected this morning’s heart position? Or are you going throughout your day getting feeling like you are worthless, unaccepted, seeking approval from somewhere, someone, anyone. Are you getting pissed off because things don’t seem to be going your way? Or are you getting pissed on rather?

Do you know that God wants to give you everything you need and wants to remind you EVERY morning so that you can start your day in victory and in hope?

He says I LOVE YOU!

I APPROVE OF YOU!!

I ACCEPT YOU!!

YOU ARE WORTH EVERYTHING TO ME!!

Are you listening to Him?

Or are you still pissing in your face?
