I always wonder what to write in these about me sections.. There’s a reason I wasn’t a marketing major 🙂 haha anywho, here’s my attempt to describe myself.
Hey, My name is Kayla. I’m 24 years old and I am from Choctaw, Oklahoma. I come from an immediate family consisting of my two wonderful younger sisters, Jasmine and Marriah, and my awesome parents, Kerry and Paulette. Yes, my parents really are awesome. I come from a family that has served the Lord since before I was born, and I am so very blessed to by that!! I am from a very large extended family, which is also a blessing. I have always had tons of fun spending time with my family, whether it be for an OU football game or a birthday celebration. We know how to have a great time enjoying each other.
Since, I was seventeen I have worked as a server waiting tables in different restaurants. If you have ever waited tables you know, you either love it or hate it. Well, I love it! As an introvert I grew up as the shyest of my sisters. In fact, up until I was fifteen I would have Jasmine, who is 3 years younger than me, talk to strangers because I was too afraid. Yep, I was as quiet and reserved as they come. However, when you work as a server in a restaurant, you obviously have to learn how to talk to people or you won’t make any $money$. So, I leave that to say that I have been forced far out of my shell. I believe that God has used working in restaurants to grow me into someone who can start up a conversation with just about anyone.
Hurray! I graduate in May 2012 with a major in Business Finance and a minor in Real Estate. It has taken me a few extra years to finish school but I am proud to be at a point of completion. I have changed my major 5 times since I started college and I’ve actually changed colleges 3 times. Let’s just say I wasn’t that kid who always knew they wanted to be an astronaut. That being said, I still don’t know what I want to “be” but I do know that I want to serve the Lord and that He will lead me into the place where I am suppose to be just as He has with the World Race! Which I am exponentially excited about!
A few other things that might give you a description of me… I am very competitive, even if it’s something i’ve never tried before. I like to win! 🙂 I am pretty calm and laid back most of the time. My favorite color is green! I get along with just about everyone I meet. I like to say I’m one of the coolest people you’ll ever meet but I can’t quite coat that statement in sarcasm like I can when I say it aloud! haha.. Really though, I am just a girl seeking God’s divine will on my life. I have given everything to Jesus Christ! He is life and He is love and without Him I have nothing and I am nothing.
