This next year and a half is one full of excitement. There is no doubt that the Race will be an adventurous, incredible, changing experience. I will be able to meet people and serve in a way I never have before. Since hearing about the Race, I have read countless blogs and searched the #11n11 on instagram multiple times. It’s easy to get lost in day dreaming about all the places I will go and the people I will be blessed to interact with.

Even with all the excitement, the World Race is not my “moment”. And for the sake of the rest of my life, I hope it’s not. Do I hope that I am changed by encountering the Lord in a deeper way than I ever have before? Yes! Do I hope for a year full of kingdom adventures? Absolutely!

However, the Lord has been showing me to not wish away my time or focus too far ahead. This is my moment. There is so much that needs to be done here, right where I am. Why do I have to wait until I go half way around the world to share the gospel or help the less fortunate. He constantly gives me opportunities to demonstrate His love to those around me. I am excited for the opportunities to build community and encourage others in the 7 months before I leave. Not only does God have great things in store for me on the Race, but He also has great things in store for me now! What a blessing to not have to wait!
