Panama is a beautiful place!! I have really enjoyed my time here so far! The church we spent the last week serving with were so good to us. They welcomed us into their church with smiles, hugs, and prayer. Not only were we going out and evangelizing, but people from the church decided to take ownership and come with us! It was a great week spent with them serving, and we miss them already! This week we are spending time in local schools painting and teaching English. Below is a breakdown of our month here in Panama 🙂
Location: Caizan, Panama
Ministry Contact: Faithful Servants Ministry and Manos de Fe
Types of Ministry: We mainly spend part of the week doing door-to-door evangelism in neighboring towns. This has been an amazing experience, as we have shared the gospel with 5 people who chose to accept it!
Language: Spanish
Wifi: We have spotty internet at the house for $1 a person for the month! You never know what you are going to get though, with it not working most of the the time.
Sleeping: We are on bunk beds this month, but they are probably the most comfortable ones we have had so far!
Showers: HOT showers, when the water is working.
Toilets: American style, except we still can’t flush any toilet paper, per usual.
Typical food: This month we have been cooking for ourselves, so American food it is. Our team has been able to make our small food budget go a long way and have some delicious meals, including lasagna, bbq chicken, and fajitas.
Adventure days: We are staying on a beautiful property in the mountains of Panama, with couches and a TV for movies (luxury). I prayed for a living room area for us all to just hang out together on our off time. We spend most of our off days either there hanging out together, or taking a 45 minute trip to the local town to grocery shop or use wifi.
Fundraising update: I have 2 weeks to raise my final $3,000!! I am so close, and blown away by the fact that people have donated $13,500 so far!! That number seemed impossible at first, but now we are only $3000 away!
What’s next? On April 26, we start a 2 day travel day to South Africa!! We will spend 5-6 days as a squad, debriefing the last 3 months on the field. Then off to our next ministry!
