As I sit down to write this, I realize it’s much harder than I thought it would be to write a short “about me” section. There is so much to my story that I want to tell you all, but for now I’ll start here:
11 things I love I no particular order 🙂
1. Coffee- I’m a coffee-holic and i’m not ashamed. Hot, iced, lattes, you name it. I am not quite to the point of drinking it black yet, but throw a little creamer in there and I’m good to go.
2. Spring time- Nothing better than being outside in the warm weather. Being out in nature, or even on a blanket in my front yard in the sun, is where I feel God the most. Winter has a way of sucking my soul after a while. Praise the Lord for Spring time that always follows!
3. Asian Babies!! But for real..I think they are the cutest things in the entire world, just ask my friends. I blame my parents for adopting my two incredibly adorable Chinese siblings 🙂 They are 10 and 11 now, and I couldn’t love them more. That started a love for Asian babies/orphans that has only grown.
4. Dancing- Not in a professional way; in a turn up the tunes and dance like nobody is watching kind of way. My best friend always makes fun of me for breaking out into random dancing all the time. What can I say? I can’t sit still..
5. Football: watching it, playing it, cheering for Ohio State, you name it! Every week before youth group growing up we would play flag football. I wasn’t afraid to get out there with the boys and get a little muddy. I try not to get too competitive..
6. Night walks– There is just something about being outside on a warm summer night under the stars. It is calming and energizing all at the same time.
7. Pediatric Nursing– Throughout nursing school, I discovered a love for pediatric nursing. I have always loved kids, so I wasn’t fully surprised. I love being able to go to work and use what I’ve learned to help kids feel better, emotionally and physically.
8. Baking- At one point in my life I aspired to work in a bakery. Even though that dream faded, I still love to bake things 🙂 It is relaxing to me. If I had a place to take it so I wouldn’t eat it all I would bake more.
9. Food- I’m mildly ashamed this is a category, but it seems fitting following baking. I will just share a few of my favorites that I could eat/drink anytime: Sonic, Dunkin Donuts, Greaters Ice cream, tacos, grilled cheese, any type of cheese for that matter, and fresh fruit just to name a few.
10. Game Nights– From Board games to card games to sports, I am always up for a quality game night. Again, I have to reign in my competitive side.
11. Youth Ministry– During college, I was able to be a summer intern for 2 INCREDIBLE groups of students, spending 2 summers in Atlanta, GA and one in Lebanon, TN. It was the greatest experience of my life. There is something so powerful about watching teenagers engage and spend time praising our Savior.
