Why the World Race?

11 months is like forever!
These are just a few of the responses I’ve gotten since being accepted on the World Race last month. These responses don’t bother me, why should they? I love talking about my trip and how I got to this point.
Why the Race? Well, the easiest answer is, it was a God thing. Two years ago I felt God calling m out of my normal life to do more for the Kingdom. Fast forward through some things and I’m here. Accepted to the World Race.
Youre doing WHAT? I’m leaving for 11 months to serve as a missionary to 11 countries.
Youre going WHERE? Puerto Rico. Ecuador. Peru. Bolivia. Thailand. Cambodia. Vietnam. Malaysia. Swaziland. Botswana. South africa.
Are you crazy? Yes. Yes. I am. You have to be a little crazy to say ” Here am I. Send Me.” To 11 different countries in 11 months. But that’s the best part, being crazy enough to say Yes, Lord
I cannot believe youre doing this?!?!? Neither can I. It’s so surreal still to think after two years of praying and waiting I’m finally going on the Race. It’s the adventure of a lifetime and I’m so blessed to be a part of it.
11 months is like forever! 11 months is a long time to be away from home. But in those 11 months I will have the opportunity to see people I would have never otherwise met, share with them the love of Christ and bring them to a place where they see their need for Jesus. I will leave my family, friends, home behind for a little while to bring faith and hope and love to others, in hopes that I will see them again. In terms of eternity, 11 months is nothing 11 months could be the difference between eternity in heaven or hell.
