Conscious consumerism. A term that has erupted in our society within the last few years. Yet, how much weight is it given? Is it seen simply as a few words on a screen rather than issues of the morality and society? Does one truly value the life of another when it is easier to simply leave them on distant shores or as headlines in newspapers, left at as a passing thought only touching our physical being in the paper cut we receive while turning the page? In reality, its a superficial sort of embrace. A pseudo of what we try to be in face of trends rather than identities.

In response to this post I would like to include the beginnings of a "wish list" I am creating. These are items that will be beneficial while overseas and traveling between the countries. Most of these items are on sale till Monday. (More items will be added later this week as I am researching specs/ethics on tents and daypacks.)

(If you can find these items cheaper in other locations please feel free to send me an email. I have chosen REI primarily for their ethics. You may read more about their co-op here:

Thank you to all who are supporting me in prayer, finances and much needed conversations over tea. I hope you our aware of how important your role is in this ministry, and how much God is at work in your own life! I am excited at the doors this opportunity has already begun to open, and the many friendships that are forming or being renewed as a result!
