So, LORD, the journey begins…I don't know what the path ahead holds…
I see a little girl, begging for home
but all she knows is the slanders of the passers by.
Her hope is as dim as the light left by men who knew the weakness of her small frame.
I hear a little boy, crying in the night,
praying that the things he saw today were just a terror that awoke him from his dreams.
But, he see the big black gun, laying at his head, and knows the source of all it's pain.
The foot steps of a mother, holding her infant in her arms, fills my heart.
She runs with all her might, fleeing the attack of family and friends.
See the other day, she learned of your name,
and your joy overwhelmed her soul.
She choose to take you in, knowing what would come,
when she began proclaiming the glory of your name.
LORD, this is why WE GO, to be the ones embracing those who have known a pseudo-love,
and to share with them the glory of your name.
As I leave behind, friends and family, I refuse to look back as the mother runs to me.
She falls to her knees with a tearful baby silent in her arms.
As I pack my life, necessity is redefined, as the little girl being begins to grin.
Then I place your holy word, right next to my lens,
and take away the gun from his trembling hands.
I think of all the things we use to defend,
and all the innocence destroyed at the belief
that man can overpower the weak.
LORD – you are the loving arms, the mercy through the storm, the joy that all disserve to know.
So, WE GO!
