My journey on the World Race so far has been full of moments when I find myself asking, “Is this really my life?”

Two days ago I spent the morning praying for my team and moving firewood from one spot to the other for our church here in Dragonesti-Olt, Romania. After lunch I was told to have a story or testimony prepared for my afternoon ministry. Around 3:30 a young married couple picked up ,my teammate, Kyle and I and took us to a nearby town.

We arrived at a very small house, the boys went for a walk to pray for the area, while Andrea and I went inside. We walked through one very small room and then ended up in the back of the house, which was the bedroom (and the only room with heat- by fire). This small room had 7 women in it. The Bible study began with prayer, then I shared some things that God is teaching me, and then we studied 1 Kings 4…

I think it first hit me when I was sitting on the bed and leaning against the wall listening to all of these women talk to my Father (and their Father) in their own language, sending Him praises and thanks. It hit me again when I started to share a part of my story, and again when we began to study the word together. Then again when I talked to my teammate Kyle on the way home and listening to the awesome ways that God had met him in the last two hours.

I cannot believe that this is the life that I am living! As I was sitting in that room, I started asking myself, “What did you do to deserve being here with these amazing women?” “Are you really in Romania right now, in a small bedroom, worshiping the Lord with women that you have never met before?” “Remember when you were in high school wondering what you were going to do with your life?”

I was overwhelmed with gratitude and love for the life that God has allowed me to live. I remember all of the plans that I had for myself in high school; and being where I am now I can honestly say that God’s plan is soooooo much bigger and better than mine. There is no place that I would rather be than in His will and in His love. This is my life. I LOVE the life that I get to live for my Heavenly Father!! I am so thankful!!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9
