Hey Everyone!! This month has been and will continue to be awesome! We are working with a boys home that houses 10 boys who come from all over Mozambique. They come here to learn practical life skills; So, they have chores and take classes here during the day and then they go to a school down the street from 5pm to 10pm. So far we have had the opportunity to worship and do church with them as well as go on walks and yesterday we even got to go into Maputo (the capitol) with the boys. Everyday they come over to play soccer with us at 4 and from what I hear we are going to have a soccer competition, inviting other boys from the neighborhood. Which is going to be AWESOME! (Promise to keep you updated!!)
This week starts the boys classes here. So we have each been assigned different classes which we will be teaching. I am doing Health, with one of my squadmates Molly. We will be teach about basic first aid, hand washing, healthy eating, wound infections, and personal hygiene. I am also teaching God’s world with my teammate Lindsay; we will be doing many different things in this class, the idea is to show the boys that there is a BIG world out there and we have an awesome and creative God who is in charge of it all.
Needless to say.. I am very excited about our ministry this month. I love it! Please be in prayer for these boys that they will see the world through faith and a biblical worldview, that they continue to learn and grow, and that they know that they are children of God called for greatness!
