Hey guys, I am so excited to introduce to you my fabulous team that I will be living in close community with, throughout these next several months; so I thought I would share with you how we decided on our team name. Our first assignment was to “make a memory” together as a team and seeing that we hadn’t been eating very much food; we unanimously decided to get some grub. We ended up stopping at a restaurant called T-Birds Roadhouse. Daniel, our waiter, was a single father who’s daughter, Page Marie, turned one on Sunday. We were so encourage and blessed by our interaction with him. The next morning my team was discussing what our team name should be and one of my teammates said “team Daniel?” As we started to discuss this possibility we all very much agreed that this was the perfect name for us. Not only did we make our first “team memory” with a guy named Daniel but there is a guy named Daniel in the bible who was continuously faced with hard decisions where he had to chose to tell one of two stories; his story or God’s story. Daniel always chose God’s story and because of his courage and faithfulness a whole nation got to not only hear about our God, but they also got to witness His power. This is the kind of team that we want to be. We want to be bold and courageous for our God. We do not want to back down when things get too tough or too messy. And most of all we want the nations to get to see the power of our God and come to have a personal and intimate relationship with Him. Not to mention, seeing that we are on an all-girl team, we thought it would be pretty sweet to have a dude’s name because we are just that cool 🙂 I have already been so very blessed by all of the girls on my team and I cannot wait to see all that God has in store for us these next 12 months.
