I have fallen in love with this country.. From the minute we drove in children were smiling and waving at us, the road was straight and as long as you can see with mountains, lakes, and really thick storm clouds in the distance; above the storm clouds and vicious lightening bolts was a picture perfect blue sky with the sun peaking through and dangerously sharp rays bursting forth, pointing downwards toward the ground. Just as soon as we made our way into the country it began to rain… And well, I really really like rain! It was the first time that I have seen lightening in 7 months and it was beautiful. Lightening always reminds me of God’s power. The rain was so refreshing and was followed by a welcomed cold wind that blew through our little shopa (small van) which we had rented and were riding in with two other teams, as well as all of our back packs on the inside.
If you look up Swaziland on the internet you will read about how poor this country is, you will read about how sick the people are here, and you will read about how this country will cease to exist by the year 2050. But having been here for only four days I can already tell you that this place is amazing and full of life! These people are filled with hope, love, and joy! I believe that there is a future for Swaziland and I know that God is doing big things here.
It looks like our ministry here will be a variety of things. We have been playing with children at the local church, visiting care points, and going on prayer walks. I am sooooo excited to be here and be a part of God’s goodness that He has for Swazi. We have to travel about two hours to get to internet but I will keep you guys updated as much as possible!! Love you guys 🙂
I have plenty of pictures that I want to share with you.. I will try to put them up soon!!
