We are needed on the island of Lesvos, Greece.

OCTOBER 19, 2015 11:33 AM EDT Hundreds of thousands of people fleeing war-ravaged Syria and other countries in crisis are making desperate choices to seek safety in Europe. More than half of them are landing by boat on the Greek island of Lesbos.

I am so thankful that I serve a God that knows what He’s doing.

When the Lord told me “Treat it (scooping poop on the farm) as if it’s the last thing you could do for me”, I had no idea that it was because our time on the farm was so limited. I’m pleased to tell you that I chose to scoop that poop with a joyful heart, and I did it with excellence!

The evening our squad leaders told us the news of Greece, tears filled my eyes.

My entire squad will be heading to Lesvos, Greece to partner with an organization called Samaritan’s Purse to provide aid to the refugees crossing the Aegean Sea. We will be providing medical care, warm meals, dry clothes, and shelter to those just reaching land. We’ll be working 12hr shifts upon arrival until early November.

We start our journey to Greece tonight – 15hr bus ride from Lezhe,Albania to Athens,Greece… followed by a 12hr ferry ride to the island of Levbos.

Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty and disease with the aim of demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. The aid and assistance are given without regard to the race, creed, gender, religion, or ethnicity of the beneficiaries.

No amount of Internet articles, YouTube videos, or interviews could adequately prepare us for this situation. We are going to the frontlines. I feel extremely honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of these refugees. I’m already yearning to hug them, love them, and show them the love of the Father in practical ways!

Please pray for us to be strengthened in every way – spiritually, emotionally, and physically, for the work set before us. Many of us (including myself) are still in need to meet our $13,000 financial deadline by October 31 in order to continue our World Race, so prayers for financial provision would also be appreciated!

May we truly be the hands and feet of Jesus!
