A month has come and gone. I still can’t believe I’m home sometimes. A year passes so quickly. This past year has been one of the best, yet most challenging years of my life. And I am so thankful for it.

Some of you are wondering, “What are you up to now?” So I figured I’d give you a little update. 🙂

After being home a little over one week, I was offered a job at IGA, the local grocery store where I used to work pre-race. I accepted and was working full time, but requested fewer hours as I was becoming a little overwhelmed. I am now working 24 hours per week, and am doing much better. This position, however, is only temporary as I will be leaving Northern Maine in September.

Now you might be asking, “Where are you going?” Well, let me tell you.

I will be moving to Gainesville, Georgia to attend The Center for Global Action (CGA) with Adventures in Missions! That’s right, I’m staying with Adventures!

“The CGA Apprentice Program is a launching pad dedicated to your holistic development through community, discipleship, and apprenticeship. We believe God designed everyone uniquely and has placed a unique call on each life. We exist to activate your generation in its kingdom role.” (CGA website)

The first semester, I will be a part of the “Worship track” The worship track helps empower God’s children with the tools needed to help us grow as sons and daughters of God. You don’t have to play an instrument in order to be there, you simply just need a hunger for worship, which is exactly what I have. I will learn about seeking the Father’s heart, how different styles of worship fit in the community, and even work in different worship environments in the surrounding community. I am so excited for this! I love worship and cannot wait to experience it at deeper levels.

The second semester, I will be a part of the “Field leadership track”. The Field leadership track helps prepare you to be a squad leader for the World Race, or other Adventures in Missions trips, such as Passport. This track is the track that first brought me to CGA. I have seen the impact that leaders have on a squad. My three squad leaders were absolutely amazing and helped us to get the most out of our race that we possibly could. (Shout out to Suzanne Bradford, Vanessa Butler, and Stacy Povian :))They encouraged us, challenged us, prayed with us, and supported us in every possible way. I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without their help and I am so thankful for them! Because of the example they set, and what the Lord showed me about my own passions while on the race, I believe that the Lord is calling me to attend the Field Leadership track at CGA with the intent of eventually squad leading. I am so excited!!

You see, on the Race I thought that the Lord would show me the type of ministry I am most passionate about. As the months went by, I started to become a little discouraged. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy the work I was doing, but I wanted to find that one thing that just made my heart soar. It wasn’t until almost the end of my race that I realized the thing I was most passionate about was helping others on my squad. I enjoyed serving them, talking with them, and ministering to them. When I was encouraging them, my heart beat was stronger, and I realized that maybe the ministry the Lord has for me involves discipling others. With Field leadership training, I can learn how to be a better leader and how to disciple those around me.

CGA is a type of schooling and with that comes some costs, (tuition, books, housing, etc.) The total cost of two semesters will be $7,000. I am fundraising for this. I know that the Lord is calling me to this, so I know that He will raise the funds. Would you consider supporting me? Donating to this program is easy! It’s the same as donating towards my World Race Account. You can click the “support me” tab on the left hand side of this blog and donate that way or you can send a check in the mail. Every dollar is appreciated! And every prayer as well!

Thank you so much for believing in me! May God bless you this day, and many more to come!

With love,
