Today is the first day post-training camp. I am not home yet, but am staying with one of the girls from my squad who I just absolutely adore in South Carolina. It's been nice to have a chance to "debrief" before heading home.
Let me start off by saying that this week has been one of the best weeks of my life.
I have been stripped of things that I had been holding on to.
I have been shaped by others around me.
I have been redeemed, set free, and challenged in hundreds of different ways.
I have been shaken to my core and built back up again.
I have learned how to hear from the Lord in new ways.
True acceptance and community has taken on a whole new meaning.
I have met complete strangers, who have turned out to be some of my best friends.
I have met my family.
And that was only one week.
God has continued to confirm that Q squad is where I am supposed to be. I have met so many amazing people. I could not imagine not being a part of their family now. It's kind of weird now, living so close with people for a week, to discover that I miss them already. We have a month before we travel the world together and I absolutely can not wait to see them all again!
Speaking of traveling the world together, let me introduce you to my team! That's right, we were given our team assignments at the end of camp. My team mates are Megan Frazer, Paige Burlew, Katie Olsen, Lena Ownbey, and Candice Shuffield, who also happens to be our wonderful team leader!!! (Pictures to come later) If you haven't noticed, I am on a team of all girls. I fully trust the AIM staff in their decisions to place us where they felt we should be. I know that they are following the Lord's leading and that is exactly where I want to be. I am so excited to travel the world with these five girls. I know that God is going to do amazing things in us and through us in these 11 months and I can not wait to see it!
