Have you ever noticed how creative our Creator is? How beautiful His creation is around us? I thought that I had.

The beauty of the mountains that surrounded us in Swaziland was breath taking. It was like God was wooing my nature loving heart. But nothing prepared me for the beauty that I would encounter in India.

Night-by-Night the sky slowly erupts with streaks of peach, pink, and lavender. They start low, but stroke by stroke begin to fill up the sky. At the center of it all is a fiery ball of magenta that sinks lower and lower. As the painting spreads over the sky from east to west, the colors slowly evolve from muted pastels into bright and glowing colors. They then slowly darken as the last bit of sun disappears. Each night the painted sky changes. None is the same as the ones before. But each is just as breath taking.

But God does not stop there. Many nights, after the light of the sun has left, He reveals a blanket of stars that spread across the heavens. Stars of different sizes and brightness. Stars that seem to twinkle at you as you gaze upon them. If you’re lucky, you’ll glimpse a shooting star as streaks through the sky. As the moon makes its appearance, it changes its shape and color. Some nights its bright white, while others it has hints of orange to it as it slowly rises.

Yet as amazing as this all is to take in and gaze at, there is one day that stands out even more. On this particular day, we were on our way to a village that we would be needing to spend the night at. For me, it was three and a half hours of feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Yet as I gazed out the window with tears rolling down my cheeks, sunflower field, after sunflower field rolled past; it was like God was saying, “You’re having a bad day, okay, let me give you your favorite flower to gaze at”. Talk about feeling loved in the midst of my own sorrow. He didn’t just send a flower to brighten my day. He had me ride past field after field. That not only led to a smile but more tears. Good tears.

With the steps He has already taken to romance my heart, it’s going to be fun to see where our relationship goes from here.
