My heart for missions began after my parents felt led to go overseas as a family. In talking with one of the church pastors, they heard of a new sister church in Trinidad that was looking for a couple or a family that was willing to come down and help them develop a children's ministry. So, in June 2004 we flew down to spend the next eleven months working with the church down there.
It was this incredible, but comfort stretching experience that opened my eyes and heart to the idea of missions. After we returned and I began high school, I began to think through the idea missions and what it was to me. Did I see myself overseas? For how long? Where? But it wasn't until I reached college and began getting into missions classes and becoming involved with a high school oriented missions organization on campus that I began to actually see where my heart was and begin to piece together my dream for missions. That dream is still being knit together, and I believe this world race is what will set it into motion.
