The World Race is over. We thought it was over after our initial commitment to 11-months on the field, but after prayerfully considering our offer to return to the field as part of a leadership team, we decided to tack on an additional six months. It’s hard to believe, but tomorrow this 18-month journey comes to a close. There are so many thoughts, feelings and emotions surrounding us right now during this bittersweet transition, but overall we are ready for it.

Katherine and I are at our final debrief here in Bali, Indonesia and it is BUSY! We have spent the last month training and discipling the new leaders that will be taking our place when we are home from the field (check out our last blog for more on that). Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to delve deep into all the nuances and details of the past year, or even the past six months. But here’s a couple of things I want to share:

1. God is good. Through it all, He has never failed us or let us down. His love is steadfast in the fun times, in the difficult times, in the times of adventure and the times of despair. He is so so so good to us, and we wouldn’t have been able to make it throughout this past year with His sovereign grace and guidance.

2. This blog is going to be short, but it’s because we don’t have too much time here at debrief to write out as much as we’d like to. Very soon we will be writing one more blog about what God is leading us into next. After that, perhaps we can return to share one final blog with you guys—talking about our favorite countries, people, memories, lessons God taught us, people that came to Christ, etc.

But for now…we hope this will do.

If you’d like to see what we have been up to in Indonesia, and meet some of our crazy friends that we have been Squad Leading for, check out the video I put together from our time in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

And last, but definitely not least, I want to share this Psalm of Thanksgiving that really echos our thankfulness to The Lord for all He has done and is continuing to do in our lives each and every day.

Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us, and we are his—
his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever;
his faithfulness, through all generations.

Psalm 100

I know we’ve said it before, but we can’t say it enough— THANK YOU!!

Thank you for your prayers on our behalf. Thank you for the comments, the emails, the phone calls, the consistent encouragement, for buying the shirts, for donating, for helping with garage sales, for the pictures and updates from the States when we are feeling a bit homesick…thank you for it all! If you are reading this right now then we are talking to you:)

Love you all. Thank you for walking with us on this journey. All the glory goes to God.
