Do you know what happens when we get out of the way and allow God to reveal His purpose and His plan for us? Let me tell you – Big things! Huge things! Things that you have been praying about for YEARS!!!!

I found so much peace in my life after reading Kingdom Journeys and posting my last blog. The book gave me such a great perspective on the events that have occurred in my life and the things that happen all around me on a daily basis that I almost immediately changed the way I looked at life and my mission work. It was like the author looked deep into my soul and put how I feel and think into words and in return offered up a solution and resolution to everything going on in my heart and in my life.

Since finishing Kingdom Journeys I have been blessed abundantly in ways I never saw coming. I have a goal of being fully funded by October 15th and am $1,477 away from this goal. Yes, you read that right! God has placed some amazing people in my life who have provided for my mission trip, some even donating multiple times. These blessings have amounted to $15,940 over the course of two months! How great is our God?

For years I have prayed for community. I thought that by getting accepted to the World Race that God was finally giving me the community I had been praying for – boy was I wrong. He didn’t want me to wait until January to live in community. He wanted me to have it RIGHT NOW! God used a meeting at Starbucks with a complete stranger to bless me with a cooperate donation, an amazing role model, service projects to participate in before I leave and most importantly a community of 10 like-minded, mission-oriented, Jesus-loving individuals to spend my Thursday evenings with.

God gave me a “home” with these people. He gave me a community of people who get exactly where I am coming from. He gave me 10 people who understand what it is like to fall short each and every day. He gave me 10 people to remind me that it’s okay to fall short and to pray over each other when we do.

God has been doing some pretty amazing things in my life over the past few weeks. The one thing that I regret is not getting out of God’s way sooner. As soon as I got out of His way – He start moving, working, blessing and healing. He has brought people back in my life and continued to take others out of it – I am simply no longer getting in the way of His selection process. It makes me think of a child with a bed full of their favorite stuffed animals. If the child’s father were to come and take away a few of the child’s favorite stuffed animals to make room for better stuffed animals – the child may become upset because he/she doesn’t understand what the father is doing. Well I am that child. Every day my heavenly Father orchestrates things that I completely and utterly do not understand for the life of me. But you know what – that’s okay – because he is God and He gets to do that. Everything that I see as a “loss” God sees as an “opportunity.”

So my question to you is – what is God trying to do in your life? What stuffed animal does God want you to get rid of so that He can make room to bless you with the gigantic Cosco teddy bear? Where in your life do you need to step back & let God work? Which of “your plans” are inhibiting “God’s plans” from flourishing in your life.

My prayer for each of us today is that we take a step back & let God do what He does best – work in the lives of His children that He loves so much! I pray that if you, yourself take a step back that God will bless you in the same abundant ways He blesses me every day!
