This year I was
able to experience my 27th birthday in Transnistria. This was quite
the experience! On the morning of my birthday I woke up and took a little extra
time getting ready. I curled my hair and put on a dress. We went to ministry
like normal and when we walked in, all of a sudden Pastor Yuri grabbed my hand.
Then, all of the students started formed a circle around Pastor Yuri and I,
singing Happy Birthday to me in Russian and then in English. It was so special!
I even got presents! I am so blessed! In the afternoon class, they sang to me
again and this time gave me a bear hug.
When we got
home, a few of us went out to go dancing, which ended up to be quite the experience
– we were the only ones on the dance floor, along with the DJ. Overall it will
forever be one of the best memories of my birthday! They made me feel so
special! This just makes me think about how God wants to celebrate you and give
you the best present of all…dying on the cross for us! How amazing is that?!?!
Just think….for the rest of your life….being given the best gift of all
everyday!! Think about it 🙂
