This past week I have been dealing with so many doctors appointments, dentist appointments, and the fact that my insurance company that covers my vaccines runs out at the end of August.

I went in for my yearly check up at the doctor and found out I am anemic with an iron deficiency. I now need to be taking iron supplements until my iron count normalizes. That’s fine and dandy, butt thinking about bringing a prescription for iron on the race among other pills is overwhelming me right now.

Now comes the dentist appointment that tells me I have five cavities because I haven’t been in to see the dentist the whole time I was in college. So I have dentist appointments coming up to get fillings done. I have a hard time with the numbing serum and have to have double amounts or I still feel what they’re doing. So then I become numb for 4 hours afterward.

Then comes the insurance company issue. I am covered under my mom’s insurance with group health and get most things done there. They don’t cover travel vaccines though. So I called my insurance company I have through the school district last year, which is good until the end of this month, and they said they fully cover travel immunizations! Hurray! Now I just need to find a place to get them done. I call a doctors office, they say call the health department. I call the health department, they say they don’t do them any more and go to a pharmacy. I go to every pharmacy in the town I live in and they all say they either don’t do travel vaccines or they need a prescription from a doctor. I met with a lady yesterday who was probably the rudest Doctor I have ever met. She told me I have to see a travel nurse or go to a Tavel clinic. So now I have an appointment to talk on the phone with a travel nurse today. I’m praying this works. I’ve been to the point of crying in the parking lot with frustration and not knowing where to go to next. I’m just glad j did this early on and not closer to the trip.

Oh! I almost forgot. I timed myself this week and did the fitness challenge requirement with 4 minutes to spare. I’m planning on walking every day for at least three miles from now until I leave for the race. I’m feeling motivated!

On the bright side though, I have been getting some donations in. One of them for $500, which blew me away. God provides when you least expect it. I sent out 150 letters in the last three weeks. I’m hoping that all of them can contribute in one way or another. I also am planning a car wash while it’s still hot out and a ladies night out at a salon. I’m excited about what’s to come even if it means I have to be completely out of control and give that control to God to work instead. He is a good good father and he can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. If you have it on your heart to give, please do. Every little bit counts. The ten bucks I got from a friend last night or the three dollars given to me by another friend, those add up. Also! dont forget my t-shirts are for sale on my fundraising page. www.facebook.com/katystefanoff.theworldrace

Also, please pray for me. Pray for patience and for me to trust God more fully. Pray for perseverance and to keep my chin up. Pray for my health and that I can get these vaccines figured out. Pray for my team who have already become family and we haven’t even met yet. Pray that God does big things in shaping me more into his likeness.
