As I sit here by the Nile river in Uganda, I reflect on my past 3 months of Asia. I will be transparent with you all right now and say it wasn’t an easy start to the race. I had to shed expectations, find my true identity and stick by it no matter what lies satan threw at me, and learn to work/live with six other very different individuals. On top of that, step confidently in my leadership role as a team leader.
I will state right now my team is straight legit and I love them. However, that love took some time to grow. Sounds simple now… Haha But it wasn’t, because I’m human.
Month 1- getting to know each other and how individual’s function.
Month 2- learning conflict resolution and communication
Month 3 my prayer was that it would be a month of wooing each other as a team. God is so faithful he did just that! Teammates transformed into friends. I watched as teammates would surprise one another with gifts, run errands for one another, sacrifice time, putting others before themselves. It was beautiful. The wooing was changing the heart of our team, and the hearts of the individuals.
I’m seeing walls come down that honestly I was afraid never would. Thankfully God does his thing no matter what! I’m blessed to be in the family of Anathallo, which means to flourish in hardship. Who knew our name would be so perfect, He did of course haha
(Also on a celebratory note, we had two new brothers from our cafe ministry, decide to follow Christ on our last night of our ministry!)
Now our team is in Uganda and having convos about spiritual gifts (which would never had happened month 1), and we are praying for big encounters with Jesus! We will be working with hospital ministry, painting projects, children’s ministry and door to door evangelism (so we have been told haha)
God is cooking something up that’s for sure! My prayer is that our team continues to seek Gods face, that we will be moved by his love to the point that we are clothed with his power from on high!
“For the kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk, it is living by Gods power.” 1 Cor 4:20
I am extremely thankful for newness in our souls, and a burning joy inside my heart. The moment I stepped off the plane my heart sang. I love Africa, super blessed to be here for the next three months! Will I ever leave? Hmm we shall see hahaha
Also thankful for all your prayers and support! You are just as much apart of this ministry as we all are!
