It’s a bitter sweet fact that I work on Sunday mornings. This means that I can’t go to my home church, but I do get to tune into 104.5 fm to hear Preacher Ricky Rich bring the word and it never lets me down!!!! The first thing he says when he steps on stage is something I will hold on to. He said, “well, here we are-another Sunday. You know what that means… It means that what ever it was that Satan was throwin at you didn’t work. It might have hit you but it didn’t penetrate. You may feel locked up, but you are not locked up. I’m not saying it didn’t hurt, but it’s not going to last.” At this the crowd went CRAAAAZY! clapping and shouting to the Lord with praise. It’s such a simple concept that I so often forget about.  I wish that I could type in the same authority and passion that R.R. preaches with.

 Major points that RR hit:
1. If you have a destiny, Satan has a plan for destruction.
2. The reason God puts people in your life who don’t know the Lord is so you can pray for them.  You pray for them because they can’t pray for themselves. You know what really gets on Satan’s nerves? Praying for someone who has a destiny in Christ.
3. We need to keep up the endurance.
4. We are soldiers for Christ. Really think about what that means.

He went to break it down. Soldiers travel light. Always on the move, always on guard. The most eye opening thing he said was a soldier doesn’t get caught up looking at stuff in the market place.  Soldiers don’t get involved with the everyday life. And that’s exactly what it should be for Christians today.  To me it seems that Christianity has reached a point where life is about having one foot in the world so we can be ‘normal’ and then Church on Sunday mornings, when in reality, we should be soldiers! It’s time for me to step up my game.

2 Timothy 2:1-7 says it better than I can
“Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. you have heard me teach tings that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses.  Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ.  Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot  please the officer who enlisted them.  And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.  And hardworking farmers should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Thing about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things.”
