ohhh where to begin!!

That’s been a recurring question as I prepared for the race. whhheerreee do I begin to start packing when my clothes blow up in my room?

but no worries. My mother has passed down her organization skills to me.

wa-la! now… where to begin to start on picking which clothes to take?? but I chose. after hours of standing and looking at my wardrobe and my constantly shrinking backpack, I made myself make decisions and get it all put in it’s place. annnd it was only 36 pounds! not too bad if you ask me :]

So. I pack up my stuff. But before I leave for a year, I had to say my farwells to some of the best people on the planet up in Dallas. Where to begin? I can’t. So, it was more like ‘see ya later! love you! facebook stalk me, because I’ll be facebook stalking you!’ God I am so blessed to have such beautiful friends. I miss Dallas.

I’m not even going to get into how much I miss my family. They are THE best!!! Miss you all so so so much!  We had a wonderful night before I launched. Mom made way too much food (as she always does) and I stuffed my face with my dog begging me for a bite the whole time.

I love that I have a family who loves and supports me in all I do. I wouldn’t be here today without each and everyone of them. Miss youuuu!!

So, I take off. First class to LAX (THANKS DADDY!!!). now here comes the math.

3 hrs. to LAX.
8 hrs. layover at LAX
15 hrs to Hong Kong
3 hrs layover
3 hrs to Bangkok
3 hrs in the back of a truck to bus station
2 hrs layover at bus station
12 hrs on bus to Phuket

Things that make all of that worth it.
1. We get to Hong Kong, and as the sun rose, we realize we are surrounded by mountains.

2. When we finally get off the bus in Phuket, our host home has actual beds for us to STRETCH OUT ON!!! I never realized how much i love to stretch out until I have been sleeping in a chair for 49 hours.

3. the views. the constant sounds of fans. the sounds of motorcycles passing by on the streets below.

Tomorrow we will take another bus 24 hrs north to our other contacts home. But for today, I got to take a shower, check my email, talk to my parents and eat a huge bowl of fried rice.

I love Thailand
