God is so amazing folks.
There is something I just want to touch on real quick that I learned recently. I tweeted the other day because I was kind of fed up with people complaining, but not taking the necessary steps to make a difference in the people’s lives they were complaining about.
“How do you make a difference in someone’s life? You show up. You be there. You lead by example. Actions speak louder than words.”
Honestly, I just said that because people were making me mad. Today.. I learned how WE NEED TO DO THIS ALL THE TIME AS CHRISTIANS.
My main goal this year is to be bold and intentional. I pray this for myself and I have others praying this over me as well. Anyways.. God showed me how me putting my fears aside and being bold and being intentional can change someones life.
I invited my parents to a church I have gone to for a couple of years now called Passion City Church. This church is so very personal to me. It has molded me to be who I am.
A little background on where I come from.. My whole life I grew up in Methodist churches.
Well, Passion is not a traditional church. SO, when I started going a couple years ago.. I had this weird complex that my family would judge me for going to a non-traditional church. I never invited my family to come because of it.
I just really felt like God was telling me to “show up” for my parents. Invite them. So I did. I won’t go in to detail about what happened, but it couldn’t have gone better.
My parents ended up loving it and wanting to go back which makes me want to fly.
I learned that to have an influence in someones life you just show up and be there for them. God is going to show up in people’s lives and sometimes all it takes is you giving them an opportunity for Him to show up.
Pursue people. That’s what God wants you to do. It is so simple yet we have such a hard time doing it because we are nervous about how they might take it. God never told us to worry about that. He just asks us daily to show up for people and love them well.
