I went to church with my friend Evanda this past sunday and the message really stuck with me. The sermon started off with the question “How can you tell if someone is a Christian?”. He did the sermon, but that question really stuck with me through out yesterday and today.
How are people supposed to know that I am a Christian without actually asking me.
In John 13:35 it says, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
It’s pretty much that simple. Love one another as Jesus has loved us. We have to sacrifice our time and serve others. When I read passages like this I can’t help but get excited for what I am about to do.
I have always loved being different. I am very dorky and I think everything is funny. What I enjoy most is loving on people. I want to make everyone feel important because they are. They are to me, but they are especially important to God. I want someone to look at me and think wow, there is something different about her. That is what I love about God. He transforms you into something different that the world isn’t used to. This world we live in is harsh and angry. There is hurt every where you look.
So how will people know I’m a Christian? People will know by the way that I live my life. They will know because I plan to live in a way that makes everyone feel special. Sometimes, I feel like there isn’t a person that really needs me. Especially now since I’m getting older. People doing their own lives and making their own plans. It gets rough sometimes, but God reminds me that I am needed. He needs me everyday to love others who don’t even know he is there.
Goal #1: make someone feel important and loved everyday
