I’m so excited to share every step of this adventure with you all, and what better step to start than with the first one? In conversations where I’ve shared with people about this new thing God is doing in my life through Adventures in Mission and the World Race the first question often inquired is, “What God you started on the World Race?” And that is a wonderful question that I’d love to answer for you right now!

Firstly, my basic knowledge of the World Race came from two friends and their testimonies from taking part is this adventure last year. Another connection was from some friends of mine who serve as advisors with WR. However, despite my various contacts and interest in their parts of this ministry, I didn’t consider myself particularly a candidate for this mission. I have taken part in two short term mission trips up to that point, and certainly dreamed of continuing that passion at some point, but had little vision for how that call would play out in my future.

Then a couple months ago, God began to speak to me, and give me clarity for missions in my life. I felt like He was calling me to lay aside my expectations and aspirations and make this season focused on mission work. This lead to me doing a lot of research and exploration which ultimately lead me back to the World Race somehow. As I came to the place of beginning to receive vision for how God wants to use World Race in my dreams of caring for orphans and growing my heart for thee world, there were a multitude of signs giving me confidence that it was God’s guidance. However, one distinct sign that gave me such affirmation I would love to share with you!

One day (when I was in the very beginning stages of looking into WR) God laid a seemingly random person on my heart. She was someone that I would consider a friend, but not someone I had closely bonded to at that point. However, when God laid her on my heart, I felt like He nudged me and said, “Why don’t you contact her? Perhaps you have more in common with her than you are aware of.”

That afternoon I was back on my laptop researching WR, and I gasped in shock when I noticed a familiar face under one of the routes “Meet The Team” page! It was the very girl God had laid upon my heart, and I had no idea that she was even interested in WR! To me, that was one of the most reassuring signs that God was leading me to step out in faith into this calling!

Even as I began stepping out in faith to begin the process of applying and interviewing for WR my prayer remained, “Lord, have your way in this. I will faithfully pursue this until you shut the door.” Much to my honest shock and amazement He has yet to shut the door, therefore I remain faithfully pursing this!

I would just like to wrap up this introductory post with a sincere thank you and a prayer request. Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to read this and show interest into this journey! Your support makes this opportunity so much more special knowing I get to share it! Secondly, my prayer request is this, heading into this fundraising is much outside my comfort zone. However, I feel sure that God wants to do a work in my heart and in those I get the opportunity to connect with. I fully believe God is big enough to provide in sovereign ways, but it’s my prayer that in doing so my human nature will not interfere with that. I believe for big things to be done for the Kingdom through this ministry, but not just for me! I pray for you, my support team, as well! I pray that God will touch you, and give you direction and purpose in your life as well! His will be done!
