As you may know I’m one of those people who is always looking for the next adventure. When one adventure closes it’s door,
I’m searching for the next. So when it came to the point where my time in England was coming to an end, I was already researching my next travel plans. But this time I was longing to do a mission, but I was not sure how I was to go about it. Like any person these days, I use the web to do my searching. I was looking for two things, an adventure and a mission. Putting those two words together I found the answer…The World Race. Of course like any good Christian I prayed on it. I came home from my Europe trip and the world race kept creeping in my thoughts. So, I decided to ask my trustees, my family and the only people crazy enough to support my constant need for excitement, they thought it was great and were excited for me.
I truly believe that the World Race is not only my next adventure but a calling to grow in faith and become closer to God. I feel I’m taking the next step into becoming the person that God wants me to be. The power of longing for more than the same routine, and more than the expectations of others, is what brought me to the World Race. And of course, you know, traveling the world played a small part. You are probably thinking, what is this World Race? Well, it’s not a race at all.
It’s a group of young adults, with the support of a nonprofit organization called Adventure in Missions, who get the opportunity
to serve God for 11 months in 11 countries. Its an opportunity for young adults to be a part of a partnership with local ministries , to serve others by building relationship with orphans, praying for the sick and planting churches while encouraging, supporting, and challenging our walk with Christ. I would be more than happy if you could join me on this journey.
I know there will be many times that I will be face to face with a lot of different challenges, and my faith will be tested. But knowing that I have a support system behind me will be very comforting. This letter is not only to let you know what’s new in my life, but asking for your support through prayer.
